Lambda supports several programming languages, including Java, Python, and Node.js. In addition, Lambda now supports running code in a container image.

To create a Lambda container image, follow these steps

Create a Dockerfile for your Lambda function. A Dockerfile is a text file that contains instructions on how to build a Docker image. Your Dockerfile should include the following:

Any additional dependencies required by your Lambda function

Build your Docker image using the Dockerfile. You can use the following command to build your Docker image:

Replace {image-name} with a name for your Docker image.

Test your Docker image locally. You can test your Docker image locally using the following command:

Replace {image-name} with the name of your Docker image.

Push your Docker image to a container registry. You can use a container registry to store and manage your Docker images. AWS provides a container registry called Amazon Elastic Container Registry (ECR).

Create a Lambda function using your container image. You can create a Lambda function using the AWS Management Console or the AWS CLI. When creating your Lambda function, select "Container image" as the function type and provide the URI of your Docker image in the container registry.

Amazon Elastic Container Registry (ECR) is a fully-managed Docker container registry that makes it easy for developers to store, manage, and deploy Docker container images. ECR provides a secure, scalable, and reliable registry for your Docker images. In this document, we will discuss how to pull public ECR images.

Open the Amazon ECR Public Gallery in your web browser.

Browse through the available repositories and select the desired image.

Open your terminal or command prompt and run the following command:

docker logout public.ecr.aws

aws ecr-public get-login-password --region us-east-1 | docker login --username AWS --password-stdin public.ecr.aws

 with the region of the repository you want to pull the image from.

Paste the image URI that you copied in step 3 and append the tag of the image that you want to pull.

Finally, run the following command to pull the image:

Once the image is pulled, you can use it to create containers and run your applications.

If you're having trouble pulling a public ECR image, here are a few things you can try:

Ensure that you have the AWS CLI installed on your local machine and you are using a valid AWS account.

 region with the region of the repository you want to pull the image from.

Check if you've correctly pasted the image URI and appended the tag of the image you want to pull.
